Alex Rispal is an Andorran artist based in Madrid, whose work focuses on experimentation with objects, light and photosensitive material. Symbolism and abstraction are recurrent in his projects, often using elements of nature as a metaphor for the body, bucolic landscapes full of mystery, and visceral portraits, in a contemporary interpretation of the early techniques of photography.

When he was a child, he was already in touch with analogue photography. He began a degree in photography at the Institut d'Estudis fotogràfics of Catalonia in 2014 and finished his postgraduate course in image creation and reflection in 2019.
He currently works in his analogic studio / laboratory of Carabanchel, Madrid, where he focuses on artistic production and exploration.
His experimental work combines analogue photography with cameraless techniques such as chemigram, photogram, Van Dyke and lumen prints.
