Geographies of Perception: Works on Paper by Regina Giménez
In response to the 2026 Investec Cape Town Art Fair’s curatorial framework Listen, a presentation of Regina Giménez’s lithographic series Constellations and Cosmic Geometries, invites viewers to attune themselves to the silent language of her universe. Her works, composed of abstracted astronomical diagrams and planetary mappings, do not speak loudly—: through layered colors and textures and symbolic geometries, Giménez’s prints reflect the multiplicity of meaning and the quiet power of abstraction.
This presentation foregrounds her lithographic practice as a site of conceptual inquiry, where geometry becomes metaphor and paper becomes terrain. The works resonate with themes of displacement, environmental change, and the politics of representation—making them especially relevant in the context of Cape Town’s layered histories and global position.
